VERTEX Cycling began 1987 as Velo Elite Racing Texas. As the name "vertex" implies, our goal is to reach the highest point and to help developing athletes attain their best in all aspects of cycling.

The first team we fielded was a small Junior Men's squad based in Dallas, TX. The successes of this team built into a Junior/U23 regional powerhouse consisting of racers who would continue on to win US National and Collegiate Championships and would have successful professional racing careers.

From its inception to today, VERTEX Cycling has been and continues to be a vital part in the competitive development of many successful world-class cyclists.

Tim Redus                        - founder and owner

Tim began his competitive cycling career in 1972 as a Junior.

He fell in love with the sport and raced throughout his college years, winning several Texas State Championships medals including gold in the Kilo in 1978 and silver in the Road Race in 1978 and 1983.

In 1984, he started his coaching and team management efforts, leading to an even more rewarding relationship with cycling.

Over the years, Tim has served as a race promoter, club officer and camp director. Some notable accomplishents:
